MassGeneral Hospital for Children is a children's hospital within the Massachusetts General Hospital. Since its founding, MGH has been a general hospital, committed to caring for patients across the lifespan. MGH was the first provider of pediatric services in Boston and has been caring for children since 1821. MGHfC currently has over 300 physicians within 50 medical specialties and 15 surgical services, and we treat over 170,000 patients annually. We are the pediatric referral center for the MassGeneral Brigham and a teaching service for Harvard Medical School. We have a Pediatrics Residency Program, a Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Program, and 4 Pediatric Fellowships: Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, and Critical Care.
We at MGHfC pride ourselves on our collegiality, close-knit community, and tailored, individualized care for our patients. We join with the residency program and other fellowship programs for wellness activities, advocacy, and advancement of medical education. As part of the larger MGH, we are dedicated to providing a medical home for entire families, coordinating care and working with our colleagues to provide seamless and superb care starting from the neonatal period.
Our division weaves into the heartbeat of MGHfC. We have close working relationships with many of the subspecialty services both in patient care and research. This place really is a unique place in that it is a large hospital but everyone knows everyone. That helps us work closely with and for our patients as many of the videos here demonstrate.
