Beyond having access to joining any research group across a large hospital like MGH, the hospital and the Harvard University research community have invested significant resources in research opportunities for all fellows. These opportunities are most accessible during your 2nd and 3rd years of fellowship when your schedule is quite flexible.
This NIH-sponsored consortium was developed at Harvard University in 2008 with an intent to stimulate and foster research at all Harvard institutions. It provides access to a number of educational opportunities to researchers as well as funding for research.
This 9 week intensive course is aimed at early-stage investigators (fellows and junior faculty) to assist them in developing a clinical trial protocol and navigating hurdles of IRB approval and planning statistical analysis. This course is free to all members of the Harvard community.
Harvard Catalyst has coordinated a large number of individual seminars for basic and clinical researchers to get additional training on specific topics in biostatistics.
This consultation service is FREE to all Harvard-affiliated researchers. Researchers are assigned a biostatistician who can help with study design, IRB approval, and data analysis.

The Department of Pediatrics at MGfC sponsors 1 scholarship yearly to send a trainee to complete this course.

This program includes a 6 week course in Clinical Epidemiology as well as a 6 week course in Biostatistics. Student also select 4 electives (3 weeks each) from the following choices: Ethical Basis of the Practice of Public Health, Introduction to Methods and Applications in Health Services Research, Medical Informatics, Implementation Research in Health and Healthcare, Decision Analysis in Clinical Research, Linear and Longitudinal Regression, Effectiveness Research with Longitudinal Healthcare Databases, Improvement in Quality in Health Care, Research with Large Databases, Machine Learning: Collaborative Data Science in Healthcare, Methods for Decision Making in Medicine
