Bedford Beats

School Projects for 2020-2021

On this page you can discover our exciting live (face-to face) and online music programs and be able to see sample lesson of the online learning resources that are available to your school.

Our Autumn term teaching will be starting in the week commencing 21th September. We have made this decision to allow schools to settle into their new routines and give an opportunity to reassess their music provision. This slight delay also gives us an opportunity to meet your needs without you missing out on the first few weeks…SO, There is STILL TIME to book activities and projects for this term!

If you have already spoken to us and arranged a different start time don’t worry, the plans for you will remain the same.

Our new Music Service Manager will be joining us in January but don’t worry…our amazing team are absolutely ready to deliver everything as it would be normally. Don’t hesitate to contact us and even though our offer to schools looks quite different for this term we are absolutely committed to provide what schools need.

This is a basic outline of our Autumn Offer to schools:

We have listened to what schools want – and Bedford Beats allows us to offer FLEXIBILITY, TEACHER SUPPORT, BROAD AND AMBITIOUS TEACHING and SAFETY.

FLEXIBILITY Our pre-recorded online lessons give schools the opportunity to schedule lessons WHEN is convenient and HOW OFTEN lessons occur, for example, instead of a set weekly lesson with a visiting tutor, schools can deliver a course of 11 lessons over 5 or 6 weeks thereby giving the children a concentrated focus. Please note that these lessons can also be delivered face to face in accordance with updated safety regulations.

TEACHER SUPPORT each programme comes with a comprehensive and clear support package for the teacher. The link music for Bedford Borough member of staff, who has prepared the programme for you, will contact you in person and guide you through the introductory information. We deliver all instruments cleaned and in excellent working order.

BROAD AND AMBITIOUS TEACHING All lessons are progressive, yet still offer opportunities for reinforcement, challenge and differentiation. As the pace of the lesson is largely controlled by the class teacher the progress can be tailored to the individual needs of the group. There are practice opportunities outside the normal lesson time and pupils can access extension tasks in many of the lessons. Lessons are supported by videos, demonstrations, challenges, questioning and assessment. They are also linked to our curriculum map.

SAFETY All risk assessment have been carefully prepared to enable schools to safely deliver the lessons. We appreciate that schools will have differing requirements and we are confident that if your needs are different and you would like for example face to face teaching, we will be able to accommodate you.

Booking for Bedford Beats will remain open throughout the Autumn term so contact us (music@bedford.gov.uk) if you would like a booking form, further details or have any questions.
