The philosophy that supports this curriculum philosophy explores education process rather than a series of products. Teaching and learning dance will be motivated by teacher and students strengths, not their weaknesses. The idea is that the students experience the process of self-exploration in an organic and flowing fashion. From one year to the next it is the responsibility of the teacher to be sensitive to the efficiency of the students’ absorption and recuperation needs for learning. Students will appreciate the joy of dance through improvisation, will know organization yields good self-managers, will value collaborative communications learned through dance making experiences, and will understand active reflection is the bridge towards accomplishing their future goals.
