During my senior year as a B.F.A. Dance major at Mason Gross School of the Arts, I had the opportunity to create a group piece of choreography. I chose seven dancers and used improvisational methods to create a 6 minute piece to music by Philip Glass. The process of making this piece was collaborative and enjoyable and the final product was just as successful. The piece, titled Undercurrent, was shown at the DancePlus Faculty Concert at Mason Gross School of the Arts and was also chosen to represent the dance program at American College Dance Festival. I was awarded the Majorie Turner Choreography Prize for Artistic Excellence for MGSA, Rutgers for this work.
