Mental health is as important as physical health. This lesson gave students the opportunity to work specifically on their mental health.
Student read the poem about making choices then were asked to draw a picture about a time where they were stuck making a good decision.
This tested the student's ability of reading and comprehending the poem and being able to make personal connections with it.
Lit art lesson- Lit Lesson
Explanation of Lesson
This lesson was able to explain hand and hand how both physical health can affect one's mental health.
Students were able to read and watch a video discussing the benefits of physical health. After, they were able to compare how being physically fit can affect their mental health. They then were to give examples of day-to-day activities on how they can be more physically fit.
I learned that students noticed that small changes in physical activity can alter their mood. Hearing them come up with small changes of physical activity was exciting because it showed how much they were listening.
