Fill your Basket- Fill your basket
Lesson explanation
The lesson entailed students picking up color coded balls and having them separated into the right color hula hoop. Students were given the direction to pick up one ball at a time while running from one end of the gym to the next.
Students were engaging with classmates and were graded on their effort and speed of picking up the balls.
This was a fun activity for all ages that each grade was able to connect to. Being able to relate this game to hunting for Easter eggs was a way to get the younger kids excited. With that, turning it into a competition among classes to see how fast they can do it gave the older classes incentive to reach their full potential.
Softball- HS Lesson Plan
Lesson Explanation
The school I student taught at had a block schedule for their classes. With block schedules, classes may range to being over an hour long. In this case for physical education, you would want to keep students engaged the whole time. This lesson I was able to have two lessons combined into one.
This lesson entailed both a fitness and game play activity. With having enough time to incorporate both within the lesson, students are able to get both a 25-minute workout out in and are able to play a game of softball
Students were given clear direction on exercises that they are familiar with. The students continued working on a sport they have spent time learning the rules about and have participated in past classes.
