Kindig's Final Moments
In either April or May of 1919, Kindig had a slight skin eruption. He was scheduled to sail home on June 7th. Two days prior he had sent a letter saying he was in good health. His family looked forward to his return. They were told on June 13, 1919, that Kindig was expected to depart Europe shortly. A couple of days later, they were told that Kindig actually died of Lobar Pneumonia on June 11, 1919. He as at the Koblenz (then Coblenz) Field Hospital in Germany.
