Paramedical Eligibility
The minimum qualification prescribed for admission to the above courses shall be a pass in II PUC with Science subjects PCB., PCMB., CBZ., except for Diploma in Medical Records Technology for which minimum qualification would be II PUC with any optional subjects such as Science/Arts/Commerce.
If sufficient candidates who have passed with PUC science subjects are not available, the candidates with S.S.L.C. qualification could be admitted to the above courses except for Diploma in Ophthalmic Technology.
Age limit for Admission
The candidate should have attained the minimum age of 15 years as on 31st December prior to the year of admission. Upper age limit would be 35 years. In case of In-service, SC & ST candidates upper age limit would be 40 years.
Duration of the Courses
For candidates who join after PUC, the duration of the above courses will be of two years + six months internship.
The candidates with SSLC qualification shall study for three years + six months internship. English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology of PUC standard shall be taught in the first year of the course to these students.

MBBS Eligibility Criteria:
The eligibility criteria for various courses of the institute are given in the table below:
MBBS/BDS Eligibility
Students must have passed 10+2 with English, Physics, Chemistry & Biology or Botany & Zoology with not less than 50% marks in aggregate for General (40% for SC/ST) category as prescribed by MCI/DCI.
Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit of the NEET (National Eligibility and Entrance Test) examination
MD/ MS Eligibility
Candidates must have an MBBS degree from an institution recognized by the Medical Council of India. They must complete their internship on or before 30th April.
Candidates must appear and qualify NEET.
Must clear the Common Entrance Test of Karnataka Examination Authority, Bangalore for the Government Quota
MDS Eligibility
Candidates must have a BDS degree from an institution recognized by the Dental Council of India.
Candidates must clear the NEET (National Eligibility & Entrance Test) conducted on an all India basis.

Hostels
College HostelThe hostel facility at Sapthagiri Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre is on par with the latest infrastructure and there is a staff consisting of caretakers/ block supervisors, other attendants and maintenance staff. Each hostel has a Warden from the teaching faculty of the colleges who is responsible for the discipline, maintenance of building, allotment of rooms etc.
Sapthagiri Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre men’s hostel and ladies hostel are located in separate blocks of the SIMS & RC campus.
Men’s Hostel
Each room is well furnished and every floor of the hostel has amenities like restrooms and bathrooms. There is a separate kitchen and spacious dining halls equipped with ultra modern facilities for the resident students. The water supply is available 24 hours and hot-water is supplied for bathing purposes. Electric generators are pressed into service in the event of electricity failure.
Ladies Hostel
It consists of a vast spacious building with a good number of rooms accommodating a vast capacity of students. Warden, Assistant warden and other managerial staff takes care of the maintenance of the hostel. The hostel is endowed with a library; indoor games like table tennis and badminton are available for the students. The hostel is also provided with diesel generator in the event of electricity failure as a backup facility.
Accommodation of Staff Members
Both teaching and non teaching staff members are given accommodation in the staff quarters of the Sapthagiri Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre campus which is well furnished and ventilated. Schools are available to meet the educational needs of the children of the staff members.
Transport System
The college possesses buses for commuting students from the hostels to the hospital and the other peripheral rural health canters for the purposes of teaching and training programmes
Being a referral hospital the ambulance service is made use of to bring the patients from the neighbouring hospitals and districts.
