From the POV of one of our students:
Not only are there major film and broadcast facilities in Cardiff, such as the BBC, ITV and Bad Wolf studios–
“there is now an independent TV production industry of over 600 firms, providing jobs for close to 6,000 people contributing £350 million to the local economy”.
Cardiff is also home to a growing creative start-up community, fed by the 5,000 students in the field who graduate from its universities every year.
Cardiff has more green spaces per person than any other UK city.
Cardiff Bay is the largest waterfront redevelopment project in Europe.
Cardiff is also a young city, with a higher than average percentage of its population aged between 15 and 39.
Cardiff also came top of the table in the UK Peace Index, which used a range of crime statistics to find the safest urban area in the UK.
In a recent European Commission survey in which residents were asked to assess their city by quality of life, Cardiff came out on top in the UK.
