WE NEED THE RIGHT UNDERSTANDING

Hos 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Truth No. 3

We need to receive LIFE…

John 6:63

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Rom 10:17

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Truth No. 4

A. We need to have FAITH…

To experience salvation from God.

Eph 2:8-9

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

To experience the power of God

1Pe 1:5-6 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

To KNOW and EXPERIENCE the RIGHTEOUSNESS of GOD

Rom 1:17

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

To experience the power of God

B. The Right kind of Faith:

Without faith it is impossible to please God

But without faith it is impossible to please HIM: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. – Heb. 11:6

Not mere knowledge but the Life of Christ

Mat 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

C. Faith is imparted to the heart of the true believer:

To Become the Sons

Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Joh 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

The Work of God

Act 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Joh 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

D. When he speaks his words:

1. He Speaks His Word to your Heart

He cause you to hear His voice;

Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

He plants His word (seed) to your heart;

Word Spoken Produces Fruit

Mat 13:23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

2. He convicts:

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

3. He enlightens:

Psa_119:105

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

4. When we hear the word of God:

Then We Received:

Matthew 13:18-23

the ‘Seed’ of life in our hearts;

the ‘Word of God’;

We received the ‘Light’;

John 1:4-5

E. We received ‘Faith’

Romans 10:17

The Substance and evidence

Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

5. Then…peace abounds in our hearts…

Php 4:7

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Only because the peace of God is the ‘Faith of Christ’ planted in our hearts.

6. The Disciples’ Request must be Our Prayer…

The disciples were WITH JESUS

Mat 9:10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.

Joh 6:3 And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.

They directly walk with Him, and talked with Him, and made their request to Him.

7. Faith must increase:

Luk_17:5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.

The disciples desperately desire that:

The Faith they received must increase…

for maturity…, for victory…for SALVATION.

8. The Holy Spirit…

A. Our Comforter

Joh 14:16-17

… the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, …., even the Spirit of truth: whom the world cannot receive; for it beholdeth him not, neither knoweth him: …

B. Our Teacher

Joh 14:26 …..He shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said unto you.

C. Our Guide:

Joh 16:13

Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He shall guide you into all the truth: for He shall not speak from himself; but what things soever He shall hear, these shall He speak: and he shall declare unto you the things that are to come.

Joh 16:14

He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

9. humility: a must experience for a true believer

Mat 18:4

Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Mat_23:12

And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled; and whosoever shall humble himself shall be exalted.

10. Anointed prayer for all the true believers:

Eph 1:17

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

Eph 1:18

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

Eph 1:19

And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power…,
