Design Preliminary Review Reflection
Overall, my design preliminary review went very well. I mostly received feedback that would help push my deliverables further and increase the user interactivity and longevity of my final deliverables. This included packaging suggestions, stepping up my current plans for pamphlets and pushing the customizability of my solutions. There was also some general feedback, including looking more into the habits of my primary demographic, such as: transportation, free time, how do they interact with packaging and apps, and how do they respond to motivational quotes or taglines.
Looking at Solution One, my app solution. The app would allow users to track Therapist assigned tasks, mood, and symptoms. This would be backed by the Beck Institute and would be paired with an informational pamphlet and an Instagram Carousel promotion. The main suggestion for this solution included pushing the pamphlet idea, a comment presenting itself in all solutions. We discussed giving the pamphlet a double purpose, like a poster or a perforated tear-off magnet on a panel, which I enjoyed and will look into further. The Beck Institute being mentioned in this solution also prompted the question of whether they should be brought into the other two solutions as well. After this discussion, I do believe it would be valuable to attach the name to any of the three solutions for credibility for both the primary and secondary audience.
Next, Solution Two, my print and craft solution. This solution is based around a keychain that doubles as a photo album and journal. Also included would be box packaging, informational pamphlet, and sticker set. This received the same feedback regarding the pamphlet, it needs to be pushed further. It was also suggested I push the packaging further as well, giving it a second life or decoration purpose. This is another point that I enjoyed the idea of going beyond the box serving as only a vessel for the main product, but it will require some more research and
visual investigation. We also discussed furthering the customizability with the addition of extra cards that can be inserted into the keychain as an alternative option to photos.
Last, Solution Three, my print-only solution. This took the form of a Welcome Kit surrounding an activity booklet redesigning the delivery of CBT worksheets. The main deliverable includes an activity booklet, paired with an informational pamphlet, notepads, and packaging. The pamphlet and packaging received the same feedback as the previous two, pushing them further and giving a second life. As for the booklet itself, it was seen as a strong solution, but could be a project on its own, and for the time constraint, would only need to include a sample of a few pages proposing the redesign.
All in all, my solutions were all seen as strong and very valid solutions to my problem statement. Opportunities for pushing packaging and pamphlet deliverables will require more research and visual investigations, which will be looked into before moving into the Comps and Mockups section of the project. Going forward, I have decided to move on with Solution Two. This solution is unique while still being relevant to the design problem, and due to the repetitive nature of the keychain layout, it helps it be able to be completed in the given timeframe, while having multiple pieces across all pieces of the solution.

Keychain
Collection of small envelopes with cut outs held together with a keyring for portability. Secondary Cards with abbreviated forms of CBT worksheets that can fit into envelopes and can be viewed from the outside. Users can write descriptions, goals, or affirmations on the open side of the envelopes. The back side will have patterns/textures that can be placed together with other cards to make a "zen garden". Informational pamphlet will serve as a desk ornament/card, folding together to make an image while the other side has information. Box with act as storage when the keychain is not in use. Sticker will be included for added promo and incentive.
