Our stay in Mauritius is drawing to an end. The Villa owners confirmed our exit date on 1 Mar '15 as they had another family moving in on 2 Mar '15. Even if we wanted to extend our stay we could not.
As this was our final week, we made a point of visiting a sugarcane farm that included a museum and sugar tasting experience. I was not aware that there were over 12 stages during which each stage added a higher level of refinement. From molasses to refined sugar. Each stage had a significant different taste. Of course they also produced Rum and we had to buy some to take home.
We had walked past the Cafe de Grand Baie many times and decided to pop in. We enjoyed the location and the lunch as it was a very relaxing environment with a great view.
On our way back from Grand Baie to Poste Lafayette, we stopped off at the Le Belle Creole Pub for a drink.
There are a number of beaches like this in Grand Baie. They did not appear suitable for snorkeling.
We spent a good part of our spare time cleaning up and packing to be ready for our departure on 1 March 2015.
