Consumption

This piece is an odd one. It was created during my junior year of college in an animation production class. We were tasked with creating a 30 second short film within a period of 5 weeks. Given that restriction plus worrying about also completing the work for other classes, I tried to create something that I could complete within that timeframe.  

I decided to animate a rather dark and disturbing nightmare I had basically beat for beat, with myself being an observer within the actual dream. I figured it would have minimal complex character animation due to it's dialogue based nature. That being said, I still had fun with smear frames for the righthand character entering the frame. 

The most enjoyable aspect was the sound design. I recorded audio of myself chewing and burping for the eating noises. I also recorded myself performing the voices of both characters. I panned the different characters slightly to the left or right depending on what side of the screen they occupy. 

Overall, I'm proud of this piece despite it's dark and disturbing subject matter,
