Denotation: This piece expresses the liminal spaces between ethnicity and nationality. As a women born in America with Puerto Rican and Dominican roots it is difficult to resonate with just one culture or one country to identify with and this piece along with the poem puts my shapeshifting identities on display from American to Puerto Rican to Dominican.
