On this page, you will find some of the remarkable assignments I completed during my Bachelor's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language at McGill University.
EDEC 262: Media, Technology and Education
Winter 2021
DMP: Digital Media Production
In this assignment, I was tasked to create a digital media product that can support my students' learning and create opportunities to connect with technology and media.
I created a Padlet World Map where my students have to identify three places, the location where they were born, a location they have visited before, and a location they would like to visit. They were mandated to write a short reflection on this entry. In addition, students can add media to these entries, such as a video, an image, a drawing, etc...
This activity is very easy to administer to students if they are in an online learning setting or in person with school provided technological tools. It was created for a grade 8 ESL group and can be used to evaluate C3 (Writes and Produces Texts).
SDL: Self Directed Learning
In this assignment, I was tasked to develop an activity using a coding software to promote student learning. I created an activity where students conjugate irregular verbs. When they get the right answer, they are allowed to shoot a basketball.
This activity permits a formative assessment of C3 (Writes and Produces Texts). It was also created with representation and equity of access in mind for a grade 8 ESL group.
Here is an explanation video of the activity: https://youtu.be/H5A62YOb5X8

EDEA 342: Curriculum and Instruction in Drama Education
Fall 2021
Theatre Appendix
Throughout the course of this class, my professor presented a wide variety of theatre warm-up games that are often used in Drama classes. As student teachers that are studying other subjects, our task was to identify the cross-curricular competencies applicable in these games and reinvest them in our own subject area.
As an ESL teacher, I found this assignment extremely useful. Most of these games can be used to break the ice with students and make them feel at ease in the classroom, which is extremely useful in a second language classroom.
EDSL 332: Literacy 2 - Teaching Writing in ESL
Winter 2022
Position Paper
For the final assignment in the teaching writing in ESL course, I was tasked to write a position paper relating to research in pedagogical writing. Even though I appreciated the broadness of the assignment, I struggled to decide what topic I was going to analyze.
I finally decided on discussing Queer Pedagogy in the ESL classroom, its implication, and benefits to our students. I am very proud of this paper, as it reflects my point of view on the inclusion of varied pedagogical styles in the classroom, and how those can be beneficial to our curriculum.

Personal Reflections
Throughout the course of this class, I was assigned personal reflections which pushed me to analyze my teaching values and reflect on those. I enjoyed completing these as they allowed me to reflect on ideas I held subconsciously to better understand them.
The first reflection prompt was: What text do you most want to teach? Why (both from a personal perspective and why it would be important to the students)? This question pushed me to find a topic I would like to address in my future teaching and analyze why.
The second reflection prompt was: EESL naturally links to all other subject-ares. In Québec, these are: Math, Science & Technology, Social Studies (History, Geography, & Citizenship; Financial Literacy), Physical Education, Arts (Visual & Performing), and Ethics & Religious Culture. Which of the above do you think is the most 'natural' link to EESL? Why? This question allowed me to analyze my knowledge about other subject areas and establish which one(s) I would be most comfortable touching upon in my own lessons.
