One of the NAACP Youth Council’s strategies included making the people of Milwaukee aware of the need for fair housing. This advertisement in the newspaper illustrates this tactic. This ad came out as the marchers were on their 104th straight day of marching.

Questions for reflection:

1. Look first at the image on this advertisement. What do you predict the message of the advertisement will be?

2. Why is it important to get the word out about important issues?

3. Think about an important issue that you want to let other people know about in order to enlist their support in creating change. What issue would you choose, and how would you get the message out? Briefly design a media and/or social media campaign to educate others on your chosen issue.
