Safe disposal of medicines: A helpful solution for our planet

Attendance an online digital event on Apr. 22, 2024 entitled “Safe disposal of medicines: A helpful solution for our planet”. The event was offered by International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP). 

Description: Adequate medication disposal is pivotal for public and environmental health. Expired or unused medicines cause serious risks when disposed of wrongly, as they can pollute water origins and harm wildlife. Promoting responsible disposal assists prevent the evolution of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, and then decrease the risk of antimicrobial resistance. However, public awareness concerning safe disposal methods, like drug take-back schemes, not only protects the environment but as well contributes to a healthier, safer community by decreasing possible hazards connected with inappropriate medication disposal in long- and short-term perspectives.
