The idea of Dunne's Treasure Hunt came from when I tried to digitalise a board game I made. The board game I originally made used arrows Players could lay down on tiles to direct their Characters to the goal. This however meant that I had the difficult task of taking a multiplayer game, and changing it to a singleplayer game.
Because of that I had to change a couple of things in order to make it a singleplayer game. I didn't yet have the skills required to make NPC's that you play against, but I did know how to make a good puzzle! So I decided to morph my boardgame into a puzzle game.
Dunne's Treasure Hunt is a topdown 2D puzzle game, where you have to use arrows to manoeuvre Dunne to the treasures of the X-Space!
The Board Game which this was based off of was more in the style of a battle royale. Where the X would appear in a random spot, and the players had to use the arrows to try and get to it while also being able to hinder others. Instead of this, the player has to place down the arrows they have, before pressing Space. This will prepare Dunne to go on his scavenger hunt, and with the arrow key you then press, you make him walk in said direction. I did have a lot of other ideas with this game. Sadly however, I didn't have the time to fully fletch this game out.
