Smile Chasers is the first Game Jam game that is actually fully functional and playable. I've made Game Jams in the past but this is the first oneĀ that is actually done. The goal of the game is to 'catch' the children and give them balloons. This concept was made for the Global Game Jam, with the theme "Make me laugh". I made the music, designed pixel art and came with certain concepts (like the water balloons).
Nodegeval is a play on the Dutch word "Noodgeval," which means emergency. The word Node is a play on the theme of this Global Game Jam, which was Roots. A different word for Root is a Node, but Node also has to do with coding. So our game idea was to be able to open up objects and take certain Nodes, for example their length or material they were made out of, and use them on other objects. This was a bit too ambitious for a game jam sadly. But there was still a lot of fun found in making it! I worked on the design ideas, puzzles and the music/sfx. These will be listenable in the music section.
