RT-130 & WORK CAPACITY TEST SCHEDULES:
STEP 1: TRAINING IDENTIFICATION
Employees are responsible for identifying training needs on an annual basis.
Employees must complete a Training Identification Form (Exhibit D) identifying all courses and/or specialized training programs they are interested in attending.
Procedures:
Download and complete a Training Identification Form (Exhibit D). See Documents section below.
Complete the form in its entirety and document all required approvals.
Route to the Forest Training Officer for processing within the primary timeframe: August 1 - September 30.
The employee, supervisor, and District FMO / AFMO should maintain a copy for reference.
Important note: Requests and actions occurring outside of the primary timeframe will be considered off cycle, will be exception based, and will require detailed justification and Certifying Official approval. Failure to adhere to the established procedures may result in disqualification in participating in a training or program.
STEP 2: TRAINING NOMINATION / REGISTRATION
Nomination / registration processes and requirements will be listed on the course announcements or course session pages.
Most course session offerings are available in the Wildland Fire Learning Portal: https://wildlandfirelearningportal.net. The employee is responsible for following the nomination processes identified on the course session page.
For training opportunities not available in Wildland Fire Learning Portal, including colleges and other approved training providers, the employee is responsible for following the processes established by the respective provider and in accordance with agency policy.
Important note: The employee is responsible for following established procedures for documenting approvals related to incident trainings related activities, including travel, prior to submitting nominations, applications, or registrations. Participation in out of Geographic Area training, specialized licensing programs, or specialized training programs such as NAFRI, PFTC, UAS, and Wildland Fire Leadership Development, require prior documented approval from a Line Officer and concurrence from the Forest Fire Staff Officer. Failure to adhere to the established procedures may result in disqualification in participating in a training or program.
