My Personal Technology Integration Framework
Lesson planning requires a significant amount of planning and consideration. This past week, we spent a lot of time learning about different theorized Technological Integration Frameworks. The above concept map is my own personal preference and process for integrating technology into my own lessons. The successful integration of technology, as I believe, should use technology in order to make the information understandable, or create new components of the lesson which allow for higher levels of thinking as seen in Bloom's taxonomy. This application relies on what I know through pedagogical knowledge to successfully relay content through ways that are interesting, inclusive, and value students' minds and abilities. With the combination of these practices, as opposed to the separation and isolation of one area, students are able to utilize technology in a way that is meaningful to the content, the lesson, and their own personal ability to understand the subject at hand.
The concept map is also color-coded to demonstrate where I got the bones of my own framework from.
Light blue- stems from the understanding of TPACK and how the balance of technology, pedagogy, and content create successful lessons.
Navy blue- indicates components borrowed from SAMR and what I believe to be the most successful and useful applications of technology
Purple- indicates the application of methods to reduce student stress and the biological processing of information through memory
Yellow- indicates Universal Design and the applications of creating engaging, inclusive, and interactive lessons that are adaptable for every student
Green- represents Sayer's multimedia principles
Pink- these are components that are smaller pieces from the three technology frameworks. They appeared in all three of the base ideologies, and are things that I value in my own technological integration.
Please visit my Module 2 page and visit the videos and sites (under resource pages) discussing TPACK, SAMR, UDL, and Sayer's Multimedia principles, or click the appropriate ideology for a brief overview for understanding where my own ideas come from.
The below image also represents my personal technological integration framework. Technology isn't able to be brought to the forefront or used properly without being supported by students, pedagogy, content, or the consideration of students memory and individual mental capacities.
