Chapter One from "The Stanley Parable: Freedom" Written by Mackenzie H [ABANDONED]
Since the age of 7, I've been writing to create stories. And I'll be honest with you all for a minute. They were all shit. Please don't bully me on this as I was a kid.
My first one was a story called "Man To The Past" which was a mashup of Stampycats "Cat To The Future" Minecraft video and "Adventure Time" which later also had elements from "Harry Potter" and (please refrain from bullying) "The Lego Movie". It was terrible so just be glad that I've lost every single work of that story.
When I start writing a story, I have this habit of writing the start of it, and then already having an idea of what the ending or last chapter would be like. I did that with every single story going forward. My writing style also developed and expanded over the years. But trust me, I didn't start off good.
Next, I was inspired by murder mysteries and the game "Criminal Case" so I decided that during my last year of primary school, I would write a murder-mystery detective novel. I hadn't even figured out the damn mystery while I was writing it so it got abandoned shortly after.
A few years later, I got really into "The Stanley Parable" and decided to write a novel-length story. The image beside is a screenshot of the first chapter. This is the first one where I finished it and was really proud of it. After getting some feedback on the length, I decided that I was going to write three parts. I finished parts one and two, and started part three but never finished it.
Other than novels, there were a few other things I wrote, such as the scripts for my short films. During 2020, while signing up for the voice acting site, "Voices.com", I had to record a demo reel and decided to write a short mystery piece in the style of an audiobook. I never completed the sign up process, however a few months later, this short script was edited and became the Prologue Chapter for my Audio Series, "What Was Left". After this project was released, I started to write down some ideas for both a prequel and a sequel. These ideas were left abandoned until I decided to pick a few of them up again for the What Was Left Novel I started working on in early 2024. That is also now on pause but may resume soon.
Around mid-late 2024, I wrote the script for the Smartberg Records reveal script which sadly never got used. However, since I think it's pretty good, you can check it out by clicking here.
