In 2021, I started to plan a live show. Just as we were starting to make progress with that, New Zealand was slapped with another lockdown. Due to that, I decided to sit down for a recording session with a list of fifteen songs and play them back to back. Though this doesn't officially count as apart of my discography, I still think it's an interesting case.
Released: 19th of November, 2021
Throughout 2020, I'd been wanting to make an album and after I really got into music and especially guitar in 2021, I wanted to make one more than ever. Around the end of September in 2021, I decided to get a bunch of songs by Wilbur Soot together and do covers of them for a cover album. After about 4 weeks of planning, recording, and mixing, the album was complete. The album contains 13 covers of music by Wilbur Soot, all of which have been recorded and mixed by Ben Roper. The album was released onto YouTube and Soundcloud, and was released with an accompanying music video for the song "For Memories" and featured Ahlia Eden-Calcott.

During the production of the song "It's All Futile! It's All Pointless!" for the album "Your City Made Me Boring", Ben Roper and myself thought it would be funny to start messing with the track to make it completely unlistenable. The result, titled "It's All Shit!", was released as a celebration for the YouTube channel, "Mackenzie H Music" reaching 100 subscribers.

During the end of 2021, I had started to make plans to launch music stream on Twitch. This single was meant to be used as part of the intro for the streams but after discovering that would not work with the equipment that I had, I decided to record the vocals for the song and release both the of the tracks I had as my first independent single.

After the release of "Your City Made Me Boring" at the end of 2021, I wanted to get back into the studio to record the next big thing. My second studio album. This second album would rely more on electric guitar and more indie rock elements, as reflected by the songlist for the album. Recording started sometime around late-January to early-February with the help of Ben Roper. However, the potential of the album was never fully reached when recording and therefor, underperformed upon release. It earned it's title as one of the more obscure releases in my discography and a product I am not proud of by my standards today. It was released along with a music video for the song, "Knee Deep at ATP" which was recorded while I had COVID.

After the failure of "Roadtrip", I was inspired to make something better. After the release of my second studio album, I decided to work on building a home studio for independent recording. The result of such ambitions resulted in the recording of my second single, "The International Tweexcore Underground". Recorded with female vocals provided by an old friend before a falling out. This single was originally planed to have a music video accompanying the release, however filming was never completed.

This will one day be my first Original Release. Three of the songs from this were recorded as apart of my Level 3 NCEA Music Assignment, however were not submitted as another assessment was an easier way to get the credits needed.

At the end of 2021, I was invited to do a short performance for the Greymouth New Years Eve Street Party. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend so I had an idea. I would record a couple songs and send them off for those to be played in between sets. Sadly, they were never used and have only been heard by a few people. Until I decided to release them a year later for my first Archive EP.

Sometime late-2022, I started to record songs for my first acoustic EP inspired by the Los Campesinos! EP, "All's Well That Ends". The project was abandoned, however major parts of one of the songs in the EP was very nearly completed. In January, I decided to start work on that one track and release it as a Valentines Day single. This single is actually the product I am most proud of. It was released alongside a music video which was filmed with the help of Will Black and Victor Batchelar. The single was originally released on the 14th of February, however, the one year anniversary of the release of this single overlapped with me and my wife's anniversary. So I decided to retcon the release date to the 15th in 2024.

Throughout my live gigs at Monteith's Brewery, I tried to do a recording for a live album. However, those attempts failed either due to technical issues or the setlist. On the 25th of November, I played my last gig at Monteith's Brewery so I decided to try and record the gig live. It worked and later became my first Live Album, "For The Record...". Fun fact: This was recorded the day before I proposed to my now-wife.

On the 25th of July, 2024, my Grandad, Leslie Harold Hallberg passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at the age of 77. A service for him was held on the 30 of July which my wife and I both attended along with all of the other family members. A few days before the service, I was asked if I would like to perform a song after the spoken tributes. The song they wanted me to perform was "Yellow" by Coldplay. I said yes. When I arrived home, I recorded a 2-track single of the same song in honor of Grandad. This was also the final music product to be released on my Soundcloud account.

Released as a Soundcloud exclusive, this single is comprised of unreleased songs from a previous acoustic EP. Recorded in late 2022, these songs never saw the light of day. As a way of saying thanks to all of the support for my Soundcloud, these songs have been left exactly the way they were recorded as a time capsule.

Advertised as my long-awaited 3rd studio album and celebration of the 7-year anniversary of the first Mackenzie H YouTube channel, this album was really an April Fools album. This was an April Fools joke I had wanted to do 2 years prior and thought that this year would be the perfect time to do it. This was also a collaborative project between my wife and I. If you want the full story, there's a link to a playlist with everything you need to know about this album below.

After the fiasco of my April Fools joke album, "Satisfied Reflections", I decided to make it up to everyone who was waiting for my 3rd album. I re-released a song from the album as its own single along with it's instrumental. Recorded in 2023, this single was originaly going to be featured in the 3rd album. However, I decided to bring it forward a bit for Satisfied Reflections.
