Create an Interactive Greeting Card

Students (grades 3-8) will create a greeting card.

This activity can be modified to suit many occasions: Mothers’ Day, Fathers’ Day, Earth Day, etc.

Students will code the computer to:

  • Create, and speak, text boxes

  • Animate a heart shape

  • Navigate pages with buttons

  • Create backgrounds and sounds

  • Write procedures

  • Advanced options include:

    • ask their friends a question

    • take their answers, and

    • read them out loud.

Grades: 3 - 8

Time: maybe 4 60 minute sessions
