Second Week of Advent

December 10th, 2020

Being Light for Others:

We begin the Advent season with one candle on the advent wreath lit. And each week, we light one more candle, until all of the candles on the advent wreath are lit. Darkness and light and the movement from one to the other has significance this season. Light, symbolic of Christ, reminds us of God's presence. Even in darkness, God is there - waiting and wanting to draw near to us.

The Advent season not only reminds us that God is near, but it calls us to think about ways in which we "share the good news," and how we can be light for one another. What is our role in evangelization - in sharing our faith with others? Click on the picture below for a prayer asking God to help us be light for others.
