First Week of Advent

Advent and Christmas Traditions:

There are many traditions that we have, including setting up a manger scene, decorating a Christmas Tree, putting out Christmas stockings, etc. But where do these traditions come from? Why have we maintained them? Are there any connections between these traditions and faith? Today we celebrate the feast of Saint Nicholas and we remember a man who was known for his generosity to the poor. But, did you know that Santa Claus grew out of traditions surrounding Saint Nicholas?
