To prepare for the course, I participated in the Design Your Life Institute from Stanford University. Many concepts in the course are based on the strategies learned from this Institute.
I plan to remember this experience forever. I think that having this experience at such a young age will help me with future networking experiences.
I think this helped me a lot to be more comfortable with myself when speaking to adults and not get so in my head. I will continue to carry what I learned from this event in the future for job interviews or even speaking to higher up people in companies.
After this event I think that networking isn’t as hard as others make it seem. I think that over time you get better and you find out what works for you. I am grateful that I took this course and that it taught me about networking because I will be looking for an internship and I will need to use what I have learned to do so.
From this event, I learned to put myself out there more. I sometimes just sit back and am too scared to try. From now on, I will be able to start putting effort into things like these.
After attending this event, I feel that I have broadened not only networking skills, but also personal growth skills.
I also feel as if it will help me with future professors. I always want to have a relationship with them, but I am too scared to actually talk to them. With having these skills and understanding that they sometimes get nervous too, I will start talking to them more. I think these are great life skills to have and use forever.
