Last Sunday I visited the city zoo. Many wild animals and birds are kept there for people to see.
First I went to the enclosure for the deer. There I saw a number of deer moving about gracefully.
Next I went to a big cement tank. A huge hippo was bathing in it. It looked very frightening when it opened its wide mouth.
Then I came to an iron enclosure. A huge and ugly-looking rhino was kept there. It had a horn on its forehead. Its skin was hard and rough. It looked very ferocious.
Next I watched the tigers, lions, and leopards kept in different cages. They gave out a foul smell, stinking smell. The lion looked majestic with its flowing mane. The striped tiger looked pretty but fearful.
I saw other places where zebras, kangaroos and giraffes were kept. A baby kangaroo in the pouch of its mother stared at me. I felt amused. I saw some crocodiles in a tank and a couple of bears in a cave. I saw a huge python and many wonderful birds and, of course, the monkeys. It was great fun watching the monkeys jumping, swinging, making faces at us and eating peanuts and bananas thrown to them. I felt very happy and last I was very tired and went to home.
