learn to knit

Teaching knitting is so fascinating. Some people get it right away. Others struggle until they figure out their groove, or the right instructions--will you learn best by text? images? video? or from me? We won't know until we try them all.

If you came to this page already a knitter, wondering what I have to offer--I'd be so happy to be your knitting coach in a totally different way. I can imagine helping you use your stash instead of buy more yarn (unless of course you need more, cause doesn't everyone need more yarn?); or maybe it's just like the reading coach idea: with a little talk, a few meetings, a plan, and some accountability--imagine what you could do.

Please note that I am not an expert knitter. I have been knitting on and off since my mother taught me when I was in 8th grade.. and then again when I was 25 ... and then maybe one more time before I had some kids of my own and found that knitting is a portable craft you can carry around the house or out to the playground. I've made socks and leg warmers, scarves, hats, mittens, fingerless gloves, and I have a basic understanding of how to read patterns and where to find them. I also know a little about things like gauge and the different weights of yarns and sizes of needles. But, coaching--that's what I'm really good at.
