Luke 13:1-5
Repent or Perish
1 Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. 2 Jesus answered, "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? 3 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. 4 Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish."
Jesus tells us about Pilate killing innocent people while they were trying to make a sacrifice in the temple...Then Jesus tells us about some other Galileans who were killed in an accident when the Tower of Siloam fell...
Jesus tells us that how a person dies, does not tell us how he lived...Random violence in the case of Pilate and the accident at the Tower of Siloam does not mean they were great sinners, just because these both were tragedies...These men were not anymore or any less guilty than others living in Jerusalem...All men must die...What we do with our lives, before death comes is what Jesus is asking and teaching us...We must repent, before we die or we will perish and not have eternal life with Him...
