RPU officers gain access to LSPS’ high-performance traffic fleet, including marked and unmarked vehicles. There’s also the opportunity to become Interceptor trained, giving access to the Oracle XS-LE Interceptor for high-speed operations.
Officers also gain the ability to drive the Shinobi police motorcycle, with advanced training available to conduct interventions against other motorcycles from both vehicles and motorcycles.
Achieving Advanced Driver allows officers to perform TPAC and tactical contact under authorisation from a pursuit tactical advisor (TACAD). Officers from CID or Firearms backgrounds also gain access to traffic control nodes and stingers, while Response officers retain these tools if already trained as Advanced Drivers.
Experienced officers can progress to become a Pursuit Tactical Advisor (TACAD). TACADs authorise tactical interventions, guide drivers in the tactical phase and assess the dynamic risk assessments during the pursuit
