English speech script also becomes an important structure. The structure of a speech script consists of opening, content, and closing. every aspect will be explained more as follow:

• Opening:

The introduction contains introducing yourself as a speaker, as well as informing the audience about the topic that will be delivered.

Example:

Assalamualaikum Wr.Wb. Good morning ladies and gentlemen. On this morning, first of all, let us praise and gratitude to God, who has given favors so that we can gather on this occasion in a healthy and happy state without lacking anything. The honorable Principal of SMK Negeri 2 Bondowoso and who I also respect, the entire academic community of SMK Negeri 2 Bondowoso.

   I am Rafi Sofyan, a representative of the Bondowoso City Education Office, very grateful on this occasion, I have been given the trust to give a few words about education. Ladies and gentlemen, education is not only found in schools. However, education plays an important role in shaping one’s mindset.

• Content:

Content of the speech topic that will be delivered. In a competition, usually the judges will pay attention to the quality of the participants from how they convey the core of a speech. 

     Example:

On this blessing day, I would like to convey that education is not something that should be taken lightly. It is true, success does not depend on the school level, in this digital transformation era, there are many technologies to improve skills. However, education can form a smart mindset in students, which has an important role in the progress of a nation.

   Therefore, the progress of education in Indonesia depends on all of us. Let us, from now try to be students who are diligent in studying at school, and for the teachers, hopefully can become better, responsible, and future oriented educators.

• Closing:

Closing is the part where you have to give closure or end the speech. Generally, closing consists of a conclusion of the speech content, followed by an invitation/affirmation, and a closing greeting to the audience.

     Example:

That’s all from me in commemorating the day of education. Again, be serious about learning, and be a life-long learning person. Thank you for your attention, I apologize if there are words that are not pleasing to the audience. Peace be upon you, stay healthy, and happy national education day, everyone!
