(Do you ever stream your games from a service like Stadia?
Do you watch "streamers"? Are there any that you regularly watch/support? If there was one reason you could give as to your enjoyment watching a streamer what would it be (Example: social being a part of a community)?
Do you Stream your game experiences, plan to, or have no intention of ever doing so?)
The only time I’ve streamed from Stadia was to play one game, Dead by Daylight. My dad already had the service so I decided why not, what harm could there be? I could play the game I wanted without having to pay for it. Well… it turned out the stream was a lot harder, it was a lot slower too and just looked different, not in a good sense either. Later on, I decided to actually buy the game off of Steam and the quality was much higher than before. Besides that, the other games on the service were kinda meh, but they most likely tried their best with the licensing they had and to provide for different genres. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it.
Now on the streamer side, it’s not often I watch streamers but I do every now and again. I’m a big fan of the different personalities and how they engage with their audience. Not just that but there’s just a special experience of just being there live. I like the bits that streamers do that make the streams entertaining and funny. It depends on the streamer but it’s nice to see streamers who are skilled at what they do and watching them in action, talking about what they’re doing and their pure reactions.
Now if we’re talking if I, personally, have ever streamed? Yes, I have. It was pretty brief unless you count the times I’ve streamed my games to my friends over Discord, which I feel might count in some sense. A few years back I used to try and stream Overwatch. I was very new to the whole streaming thing and all. It was kind of stressful to try and say things and feel like if people were there you should keep them entertained and well… there. I enjoy letting my friends do the work for me, really. Some of them stream and though I’m not doing any behind the scenes or being the main streamer, it’s nice to be part of it sometimes while just having fun with my friends. It comes naturally and I don’t have to worry about viewers too much and they probably enjoy it too with it happening like that. Though, it helps that my friends are engaging with their viewers and good at what they do, of course.
To end things off, I recommend giving it a try if you really enjoy playing games! Be sure to have good equipment though, it’s easier to watch if you don’t have to strain yourself to understand what’s going on. There’s some research to be done, but it can be a really enthralling experience if you put yourself into it.
