The famous "leaning pagoda" at Wat Paramaiyikawas on Ko Kret is a unique landmark. It's a white pagoda with a red cloth on top, typical of Mon culture.
For many years, it was believed that the pagoda started leaning after the riverbank collapsed around 1891. However, recent research suggests this might not be true.
An old drawing from 1895 shows the pagoda standing straight up, without any tilt. This means the pagoda probably didn't start leaning until later.
Despite the mystery, the leaning pagoda remains a beloved symbol of Ko Kret.
Wat Paramaiyikawas is home to the stunning Mutao Chedi, also known as the Leaning Chedi. This beautiful white pagoda is a must-see when visiting Ko Kret
