Hardware Set-Up

CCE panel

Ensure x1 green tick (top left corner and it's tiny!) and x2 green circles (middle of screen)

Ensure the following are connected:

1) Power cable: power source <-> CCE

2) DA cable (monitor): device <-> DA unit on anaesthetic machine <-> CCE

3) DA cable (ventilator): device <-> DA unit on anaesthetic machine <-> CCE

4) Ethernet: wall port (labelled as Cerner) <-> CCE

Switch off and on using this button (takes ~5 min to reboot)

Glossary

BMDI = Bedside Medical Device Integration - the process of automatically uploading clinical data to the patient's record

CCE = Cerner Connectivity Engine - black panel where connected devices are displayed (acts a device hub where all data enters/exits from)

DA = Device Adapter - the hardware connection between the device and the CCE (example in photo below)
