An example of a device QR code (remember you need to scan TWO QR codes - one for the ventilator and one for the vital signs monitor)
Click on 'Other'
Scan the QR code of the first device
Click 'Ok'
Click 'Other' again
Scan the QR code of the second device you wish to associate
Click 'Ok' again
Continue as normal
From the main Anaesthesia page with or without a case open:
1. Click on Task from the top menu.
2. Click on Maintain Macros…
3. Type the new macro Name
4. Choose a Category from the drop-down list
5. Use the tabs under Available Items to navigate through the available events [Note: Maximise the Maintain macros screen to view the available items properly]
6. Select the required event
7. Click on the button to add the event to the macro
8. Set the added event as required [Note: Execute will document the event when the macro is executed, To Do will leave the event to be executed later[
9. If required, click on the Edit button next to the added event to modify it [Note: This will allow to adjust, for example, dosages, routes and other settings depending on the type event] [Note: you can use the arrow buttons on the right hand side of the screen to re-arrange the events in your macro]
10. Repeat steps 5 to 9 until your macro has all the events that you require
11. Click on the button [Note: Saved macros will appear under the selected category]
Macros facilitate documentation of the anaesthetic record.
Monitoring needs to be activated before it will flow into the anaesthetic chart
1. Click on the button
2. Select the macro for your case
3. Tick the Execute or To Do column of each of the macro items [Note: You can also re-order the events using the arrows on the right]
4. Click the button [Note: By selecting Execute, the events marked as executed will be documented in the record. The To Do events will be put into a list to be executed or removed before the end of the case.]
To Do List Execute
If we do not need to modify the event, we just execute it
1. Click on the event to select it
2. Click on the Execute button
[Note: The event will be documented in the record.]
To Do List Cancel
If we do not need the event any more, we cancel it
3. Click on the event to select it
4. Click on the Cancel button
[Note: All events from the To Do list must be executed or cancelled prior to finalising the Anaesthetic Record.]
To Do List Modify and execute
If we do need to modify the event before documenting it
1. Click on the event to select it
2. Click on the Edit button
3. Modify dosage/times/comments as required
4. Click the button [Note: You can click OK if you wish to modify the event but not record it straight away]
