Library Organisation and Reorganisation
Our Library is a fantastic resource, we just re-organised to make it even better!!
We removed old and worn books, ordered the books by genre, and ordered titles that students asked for
All of these changes helped to make the space welcoming and inviting to our student body
Deirdre Costello and Victoria Brady took over the running of the library in 2019.
Their aim was to make the library a welcoming place and to attract students into the space.

First on the list was to clean the library up and remove old stock.

Library and Literacy Plan Aims:
· The aim of the library team is to promote literacy across the school environment.
· To coordinate with JSCP and English/ Learning Support departments to boost engagement with reading
· To have a vibrant role in the development of a culture that promotes wider reading, motivated readers and learners for life
· To provide a place for collaborative learning, creativity, and for developing independent research and information literacy skills.
LIBRARY RE-ORGANISATION.....
Over the course of the school year we noticed readership was up on last years numbers.
However some students were having trouble locating books based upon where they were placed in the library.
It was decided that we would take on the mammoth task of reordering the library by genre! Each book was taken from the shelves, placed in its genre and a sticker placed upon it to ensure it did not get mixed up once borrowed.
This task took us 3 full days in the library. We enlisted the help of a few dedicated students to help us with the task!!
