Each class will have a roster with the students’ names, birthdate/school grade, and contact info for their parents.
The teacher is responsible for keeping weekly attendance for all their groups and updating the rosters online. This is very important data for us to maintain, so please be diligent about it.
Your rosters will include important information, including the venue address, classroom number, alarm codes, afternoon activities program phone numbers, and phone/email of the venue contact person.
If a student has not shown up for the first class, or otherwise misses 2-3 weeks in a row, please notify us immediately so that we can get in touch with the parents. This is especially important for invoicing the families.
Kids are the teacher’s responsibility when at Linguajoy lessons:
Kids must never wander/run out of the classroom/venue by themselves.
After the lesson, make sure that all kids meet with their parent/guardian: if parents are not yet there to pick-up, keep the child with you, or ask help from a supervisor/colleague.
If teaching at a school venue where children are returning to an afternoon activities program (called in Finnish "iltapäiväkerho"/ Swedish "eftis," generally for Grades 1 & 2), accompany the children back to their afternoon program as agreed upon with the afternoon activities manager. (Note: some older students may arrive to the Club and walk home on their own, generally from Grade 3 onwards.)
