Alexa Ray grew up surrounded by the sounds of old Salsa and Tango vinyl records played by her grandfather, never realizing she would one day bring that music to life through dance. At 17, Alexa began her dance journey as a professional musical theatre performer, and from there, her passion quickly took center stage. She went on to earn her BFA in Dance and BA in Nutrition from the University of Washington, where she trained extensively in contemporary, jazz, ballet, hip hop, tap, heels, reggaeton, Afro, and Latin dance.

It was during this time that Alexa discovered her true calling: Latin dance. Inspired by the music of her childhood, she immersed herself in Salsa and Bachata, training at Baila District under renowned instructors Benny and Ashley. Her dedication and artistry soon propelled her into the competitive dance world, where she achieved multiple national and international titles in Salsa, Bachata, solo, duo, and team categories.

Today, Alexa continues to grow as a dancer, choreographer, and competitor while sharing her love of movement with her community at LDA. Known for her dynamic energy, versatility, and passion for storytelling through dance, she hopes to inspire students and audiences!
