EMPLOYMENT SERVICES
A community vocational rehabilitation program that assists adults to overcome barriers to obtaining a job. They provide training and jobs at a small agency-run warehouse.
Jubilee Jobs of Lexington helps the unemployed and underemployed folks of Lexington find jobs that suit their interests, skills, and needs. They also provide assistance with job preparation, placement, retention, and career advancement to help disadvantaged jobseekers move beyond poverty toward self-sufficiency. This is a free service for applicants and employers.
The Goodwill Resource Center has several programs to help job seekers enter the workforce (not just at Goodwill). Services include help obtaining ID, birth certificates, food handlers permit, interview outfits, etc.
The Summer Youth Job Training Program provides workforce training opportunities for 300 Lexington youth, who are rising 10, 11 and 12th grade high school students, by teaming with Lexington’s business and community-based partners. Youth workers will work part-time, up to a maximum of 20 hours per week, and will earn $15 per hour. All youth workers’ salaries are paid by the city government.
