Szkola Podstawowa z Oddzialami Integracyjnymi nr 8 im. Jana Matejki
It is a primary school with over 400 children aged from 7 to 14 years, and 50 members of staff. It is called an integrated school because some of the students are intellectually or physically challenged. We have some foreign students whose parents emigrated to Poland. We cover all aspects of the curriculum including foreign languages: German and English. We teach: physics, biology, chemistry, IT, Polish, Maths, P.E., Music, Art, Technology, R.E. Our children take part in lots of competitions in many subjects and achieve high results. Our school is rated very highly in the quality of its education within our local region and nationally. Last year’s final exams at the end of the school achieved the highest scores in the region in all subjects. We are ASP UNESCO and we consider local, national and international issues such as human rights, balanced development, hunger and poverty with presentations to the children on specific subjects and dates.
