State Contest - Forest Health
Contest Format
At the Forest Health station on the State Contest, participants will be asked to identify insects, diseases, and stresses by specimen or evidence. To prepare, you should study these things that commonly influence forest health in Florida.
If you are 8-10 years old, you are a Junior. You will only be asked to identify Junior specimens and you will be asked to identify all 15 junior items.
If you are 11-13 years old, you are an Intermediate. You will be asked to identify 20 items taken from both Junior and Intermediate specimens.
If you are 14-18 years old, you are a Senior. You will be asked to identify 30 items taken from all levels of specimens from the state contest.

These flashcards can be used to study for the forest health section of the state contest. The "online pictures" are pictures from the state contest website. The "contest samples" are pictures of the samples used in the 2022 state contest. Not all forest health items were represented on the contest, so some "contest sample" pictures are unavailable and "online pictures" are used in their place.
