Flashcards
These flashcards can be used to study for the trees found on the NFF contest.
Select the level(s) of trees you want to study.
If you are 8-10 years old, you are a Junior. You will only be asked to identify Junior trees.
If you are 11-13 years old, you are an Intermediate. You will be asked to identify both Junior and Intermediate trees.
If you are 14-18 years old, you are a Senior. You will be asked to identify all levels of trees from the NFF contest. Note, this contest only includes some of the Senior trees from the state contest. You will be given a tree list, so you do not have to spell the trees on the NFF contest.
Choose whether to study all characteristics of a tree, or just the leaves. Learning all of the characteristics is helpful for identifying trees in the forest. At the NFF contest, you will identify trees based on live leaves. You may also be provided with additional information such as nuts, fruits, cones, flowers or bark, either as pictures or live specimens.
