Student Voice with G Suite & Other Tools

Level: Beginner, Intermediate

Audience: Upper-Elementary and Secondary

Everyone and everything has a story! Storytelling is an integral part of our learning experiences - personal narratives, historical events, and stories that inform or instruct. (content area stories) Describe your neighborhood, city, school, or an event in history with Google Maps or Google Tour Builder. We’ll discuss screencasting with Google Slides, Keynote, or whiteboarding apps (such as Vittle, Educreations, etc) and then hosting / archive them on YouTube and / or a Google Site. Create documentary videos, book trailers, or record your learning through video tutorials (it’s a story!). Tell stories or build skills with Sutori. Record a podcast or use Flipgrid. Participants will share and brainstorm practical ideas and tools for telling “the story” and the tools available, including script writing, producing / using images, colour, voice recording, music / effects / transitions and titles), green screening. The discussion will include steps to planning (such as storyboarding with google Drawing / Slides), revising, producing, and telling your story, copyright, and media literacy and suggest the tools to get things done!
