Providing evidence
You need to support statements that you have or want to develop a particular skill or attribute with specific evidence; we are scientists after all!
The more specific you are with evidence, the more likely the person is going to give you what you are asking for (money, job, funding, opportunity etc). But you need to link the evidence explicitly with the skills and attributes, i.e. show through explicitly articulating that you understand the connections. In most cases, group by skills and attributes not by evidence. Evidence list is for the CV.
Evidence of existing skill/attribute
If describing your strengths/ experiences in a particular project, figure out which ones you truly feel are your strengths and what you have gained, group them into paragraphs or similar then add evidence such as
anecdotes of how you approach something
your philosophy on ----, approach to ---
specific tasks you did
awards
courses you attended (from 1 hour to multi-year programme!)
scholarships
referee comments
supervisor comments
For Career Personal Development Plans
If it is a developmental need you have identified, then figure out how you are going to address it!
(This process can be a formal requirement or something you do for self-improvement!)
Consider:
courses (short to longer)
mentors - e.g. UNSW staff, students etc
online resources (videos, blogs, courses etc)
people online you can interact with
activities you can pursue - e.g. reflective practices - blogging
