The São Paulo School of Advanced Science (SPSAS) was held together with the XVI Jorge André Swieca School on Non linear and Quantum Optics.

100 Undergraduate (4th (Senior) year) and Post-graduation students were selected : 50 from Brazil and 50 from abroad (25 Latin America + 25 other parts of the World).

All the expenses were covered (air tickets, transportation, lodging and meals) for the selected students.

Top researchers from all over the world gave talks and lectures (including hands on activities).

2 weeks of intense lectures and experimental courses with hands on activities.

Students discussed their research accomplishments in a poster sessions.

In this edition of the school, the topic was "Frontiers in Lasers and their Applications". SPSAS was organized by the Center for Lasers and Applications, located inside the Nuclear and Energy Research Institute, IPEN, at the University of São Paulo (USP) in Brazil.
