Here are some things we’ve done for outreach over the last few years.
Summer Teaching & Recruitment (Boot Camp): Exposed middle school students to robotics topics through open house nights which led to 12 students signing up for a summer learning program. During this program our students mentored the recruits in: Robotics, CAD, & Programming. This is part of sustainability for FIRST and STEM at KM.
School Functions: Attended many open houses, expo nights, and parades to showcase robotics to the KM community.
30-hour build: Participated in a 30-hour build at Homestead High School. This was a ton of fun and gave our team a headstart on this year's competition. We also made new friends at the event and gained exposure for the team. Thank you Homestead Robotics!
Company Tours: Participated in company tours to learn about real careers in engineering, manufacturing and business. We took four tours in the last year. (Aries, WI Engraving, Generac, and Rockwell Automation)
Fundraising: Sent out and delivered sponsorship letters to sustain and fund our season. Worked at a Culver's Cares night and sold kringle to raise funds and bring robotics club awareness to the community.
WI Lieutenant Governor Visit: Met and talked with the Lt. governor about the value of FIRST robotics and how it helps drive STEM at KM.
Social Media: Manage our website and Instagram accounts. (~300 followers)
Neighborhood Support: Participate in Adopt-A-Highway program to clean up local roads.
