Every year our team goes to the Culvers in Wales and serves food to customers. By doing this we are both sharing our team with our community and doing fundraising. With every tray of food given out, we also gave out a card about our team. During that time that we are handing out food and ice cream we earn a certain percentage of that money, which goes into getting parts for our robot and fees for competitions.
Every year Kettle Moraine School District hosts a summer academy where students 5k-8th grade can sign up for fun classes and learn about anything they want from sports, writing, and even STEM. We pulled out 3 to 4 classes that were learning about programing and design and showed them about FIRST, and what FTC is and how our team works.
Throughout the past years, our team has been on many company tours. We have gained huge insight from visiting our sponsors, where we have learned all about careers in engineering, manufacturing and business. It was very interesting to see robotics function outside of FTC, and we would be more than happy to participate in more tours in the future!
