C Scow Fleet

C Scows are a 1905 Johnson Boat Works design that has made the transition from wood to fiberglass well. It was one of the original fleets at LFSC and remains active today. The C is a relatively light boat (650 pounds) for its size (20 feet) with a large sail area (216 square feet) and is fast both up and off the wind. It is designed to be sailed healed about 20 to 25 degrees which gives it a long waterline with a small wetted surface. The ideal crew weight for heavy air is about 500 lbs, less for light to medium air.

The letter designation on the sail is the fleet (LF - Lake Fenton) and the number is the skipper's choice.
